Down Below the Dam

Don’t their little feet get cold swimming around in that chilly water????

Two years ago: Zip In Market

  1. Here comes the science!

Ducks have two valves very close to each other in their legs. Blood on the way to a duck's foot cools and it warms as it comes back up and passes the warmer valve. As the foot gets colder the valve widens to allow more blood through.

Thus, they don't freeze their tootsies!

  2. Thank you so much, Kris! Now we don't have to worry about them!

    Love your blog, BTW.

Well hello there! What do you think?
